This tour is a great way to experience the rich cultural heritage, history, and architecture of India. In this article, we will discuss a 3-day Golden Triangle tour itinerary that covers the major tourist attractions in these three cities.
On the first day of the tour, you will arrive in Delhi, the capital city of India. You can start your day by visiting the iconic Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. After that, head to the Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India, which is located nearby. Take a rickshaw ride through the narrow streets of Chandni Chowk, one of the oldest and busiest markets in Delhi.
After lunch, visit the Qutub Minar, a 73-meter-tall tower built in the 12th century by Qutub-ud-din Aibak. Later, visit Humayun's Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the burial place of Mughal Emperor Humayun. End your day by visiting the India Gate, a war memorial located in the heart of the city.
Day 2: Agra
On the second day, you will head to Agra, the city of the Taj Mahal. In the morning, visit the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Taj Mahal was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal.
After lunch, visit Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a grand red sandstone fort built by Mughal Emperor Akbar. From Agra Fort, you can also get a great view of the Taj Mahal. End your day by visiting the Itmad-ud-Daula, also known as the Baby Taj, a beautiful mausoleum built by Nur Jahan, the wife of Mughal Emperor Jahangir.
Day 3: Jaipur
On the third day, you will head to Jaipur, also known as the Pink City. Start your day by visiting the Amber Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a beautiful fort built by Raja Man Singh in the 16th century. You can also enjoy an elephant ride to the top of the fort.
After lunch, visit the City Palace, a beautiful palace complex that houses a museum with a vast collection of weapons, costumes, and paintings. From the City Palace, visit the Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in the 18th century.
In the evening, visit the Hawa Mahal, a beautiful palace with hundreds of small windows that allow the wind to blow through the palace and keep it cool. End your day by visiting the Birla Mandir, a beautiful white marble temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
